CDC’s Vision Health Initiative (VHI) has launched a new interactive website.

The VHI website offers access to a vast array of information regarding this initiative, past and current projects with diverse stakeholders, publications in peer reviewed journals, as well as vision-related resources for consumers and professionals.
Highlights of the new website include:

  • An interactive map allowing users to access specific state-level surveillance data, the first tool of its kind
  • regarding vision data.
  • Descriptions of current and past VHI projects, highlighting the strength of VHI partnerships with diverse
  • stakeholders to develop a coordinated public health framework to promote the nation’s vision health.
  • Basic information regarding common eye disorders.
  • Access to VHI publications in downloadable formats (html and pdf).

National and state data regarding vision health are available for use in research reports or presentations.
Links to data sources available to the VHI are also provided.
